CC ZUPP - Military Lack of Info

The oft-quoted "Crawford, Ida and Sac Counties" book includes in the write-up on C.C. Zupp the statement that "&ldots;he enlisted in the Eighteen Michigan Infantry, and after its close returned to Michigan&ldots;" But no-where in any official or semi-official listing of the soldiers of the Grand Army of the Republic do we find a "C Zupp".

Following are the entries for his brothers, Henry, John and Philip.

John Zupp / Jupp Cambria Michigan enlisted as a private in Company D, 18th Michigan Infantry on 28 July, 1862 at age 24 for a term of 3 years. He was mustered 26 Aug., 1862. He died of disease at Lexington, KY 24 Dec., 1862 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE

Philip Zupp enlisted as a Private on 15 September 1864 at the age of 38
in the 183rd Ohio Infantry. Mustered out Company A, 183rd Infantry Regiment Ohio on 01 June 1865 in McDougall Genl Hosp, NY Harbor

There is also a George W. Zupp, the son of Christian B. Zupp. George enlisted in 1861 in the Ohio 115th regiment, Company E as a private and in Nov 1862 died at Camp Dennison, Ohio.
